T-Lowe — Mack-A-Flama

Second and last CD by T-Lowe, rapper from San Francisco. Kirk "KZO" Crumpler does most of the music, the other producers are Black-"C" and Premier Music (Race, Reg and TC). Guests are 4-Tay, Primo, Herm, Hitman, Lyrical Assassin, Robin Lowe, Black-"C", Tay-da-Tay, Alleykatt, Lil Dank, Quincy, Stoney B. and T. Loc.

The album is a pleasant surprise in the long list of rap records released in the 1996 season: it's the ideal gangsta rap album from the Bay, it's hardcore rap assault, this album hits hard all the time with rare consistency and g-funk/mobb nuances, there are hard, dry and strong rhythms, provided by Kizzo aka KZO, and spectacular rapping by T-Lowe who enjoys dropping bars with his friends which are scattered almost everywhere in these seventy minutes, until the obligatory final posse. "Don't Smoke Up All My Weed" is a gem on a gem-album, on an exquisite production on which Primo also jumps.

I don't know why this record was forgotten so soon and is ignored today, it's one of the most enjoyable and strongest CDs to come out of San Francisco in the mid-nineties, in my very humble opinion. 7.5/10.
