In the summer of 2009, joe budden gets a slap so hard that he leaves his group, ends his artistic career, stops taking drugs and makes him question his sexual identity. Throughout the year, he has stood up against the Wu-Tang Clan by questioning Method Man's legitimacy on a list of the best MCs of all time compiled by Vibe magazine. He arrives at the fight a few months later with Raekwon's crew arriving in Gambino style, and one of his boys splapped joe budden. In the following years, the rnb singer releases more material to meet his contract deadlines, then retires and becomes a podcaster.
Meanwhile, Hanz On, the guy who hit the singer, has started his own solo rapping career. After releasing his debut with Chambermusik, in 2012 he co-founded his own label Hanz On Music Entertainment together with Ettore Mazzei and released a second album in the same year and a third project in 2017. Music is made by guys you may never have heard of, their set consists of boom bap rhythms with some trap influence and rusty sounds, all nice and generic, average. Hanz On's rapping is honest, it flows with a slow style, even though it might not tell you anything. The guests are members of the Wu-Tang Clan Method Man, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck and Ghostface Killah, affiliates Shawn Wigs of Theodore Unit and Streetlife, as well as Cardi, Lawrence Arnell, Mistah FAB, Smoove Q and Holy Moe.
From the W comes the main strong points of the tape and they are enough to attract fans, even if it's not yet an essential listening. 6/10.
