Second tape released by Gimisum Family, a collective made up of Skinny Pimp, So Serious, Lil Gin, Lil Yo and 211. The production is credited to Tha Booga Maine.
The first tune features a stressful drum and a chipmunk rap on a generic beat, in one of the most extravagant cuts to come off the Skinny Pimp label in that period. Skit, then "Junkie Can't Get None", generic drum and simple rhythm on which the performers deliver slowly. Another skit, then comes [the] track number five: generic rhythm, poor drum, single looped line, tasteless delivery. "Hit the Blunt" has a similar sound to the previous song, with a single looped line, generic rhythm and minimal drum: the delivery of the boys appears dull and subdued.
"Skinny Nigga" is a short interlude, followed by "Pimpin & Robbin", probably the best production on the tape: drum downtempo, deep dark sample, single looped line in the background combined with a short chorus with synthesized vocals. The soundscape gives vaporwave / chillwave vibes, so rappers deliver slowly, making a good joint. Skit, then 10th song, consisting of a generic rhythm with decent drum and bars. "Jealous Snitch" has an annoying sample and subdued delivery, there's plenty of room for bad beat. The thanks follow, then another annoying sample arrives at the track thirteen. The remix of "Hit the Floor" is the last choice of the edition, with a generic rhythm, poor drum and a chipmunk delivery. Closes an outro.
The tape consists of 15 pieces for a total of 43 minutes: the production is cheap in a bad and shoddy sense, with drums and samples bordering on annoyance, and a generic and bland delivery style that struggles to entertain the listener. It's one of the most disappointing tapes released by Gimisum in this period, not recommended.
Rating: 4.5/10.
