Cheeky Blakk — Let Me Get That Outcha EP

First or second extended play for Cheeky Blakk, female MC from New Orleans. Entirely produced by Mannie Fresh, excluding the fifth pick, whose rhythm is provided by DJ Tee, this EP is extended by some instrumentals up to 35 minutes of listening.

The title track kicks off the tape: decent boom bap, skinny and frantic drum machine, skinny rhythm, slow and decent syncopated delivery of the rapper, simple chorus and dog barking sample looped tightly in the background. The second track is similar to the previous one, there's a decent boom baè rhythm, slow skeletal drum machine, simple hook and an acceptable delivery from Cheeky Blakk.

"Bitch Get Off Me" drops the quality of the record with a cheap boom bap, slow drum, an amateur delivery from this little girl and a grueling long hook for this eight-minute choice. Mannie Fresh greets the album with a good beat for "Child Hood", fourth cassette song: amazing relaxed boom bap, with jazzy dope samples, simple hook and slow smooth syncopated delivery of the MC.

DJ Tee offers a decent rhythm for the final track, boom bap with a tight, frantic syncopated skinny drum machine on which the rapper offers a grueling hook: this latest cut also features the only guest on the tape, Kenyatta "Lokee" Ruth, a New Orleans rapper offering amateur syncopated delivery. Followed by the clean tracks of the first and the second song and the instrumentals of the third and fourth one.

Amateur tape, southern acceptable, not-essential listening. 6/10.
