Two weeks after releasing "Beast Mode 4", Sheek Louch pulls out an extended play that's presumably made up of the tracks left on the floor.
The rhythms, hardcore and jazzy, aren't particularly inspired, and the guests don't do much to enhance this tape. Joell Ortiz arrives on "Still New York Shit", but he's not particularly inspired by a hardcore dirty boom bap, with slow and pounding drum machine. This one's followed by a jazzy track with good dark and tense samples, and a decent delivery of Sheek which, as in "Beast Mode 4", sounds better when its playing time is cut in half and he's joined by a few guests.
The third song is similar to the previous one, with a much more confused background; Dave East and Dyce Payne are the latest guests on this short EP, at tracks number four and five respectively, the former has a good pounding drum machine and good jazzy samples, Dave East manages to adapt easily, while Payne offers a sung hook that acts as a contrast to the heavy hardcore rhythm. Closes an average production. Sheek on autopilot here, 6 short tracks, 16 minutes, little quality. Not recommended. 5.5/10.
