Collaborative tape between 38 Spesh and Chase Fetti, respectively at their tenth and fourth effort in 2020. The artist of the Trust collective produces the tape entirely.
After a beat-free intro, "Same Nigga" is the first track, jazzy boom bap, with meager midtempo drum, dark samples and a smooth slow delivery by Chase Fetti. "Get With Me" has a good jazzy beat, with drum patterns, a slow one and a snare one, strings in the background and a good rapper delivery. The fourth track is qualitatively different from the previous ones: splendid sample, let to breathe, boom bap jazzy dope, lean slow drum machine, slow choked syncopated delivery of Fetti. Here, 38 Spesh takes the field and goes to kill his rhythm, slow smoothness delivery, dope, great track.
An interlude of Boldy James gives his props to Chase Fetti, then jazzy boom bap with excellent sample and slow drum for "Interstate", piece that has vibes dance and the snare drum typical of trap, the rapper is also fit here with a slow and flowing style. The seventh track is again jazzy, good piano, but it maintains a slow drum machine typical of the trap. Benny the Butcher is the guest of "Own Pots": boom bap with great jazzy and dark samples, slow and hard drum, mood thriller, urgent delivery by Chase Fetti, then Benny kills the cut with a deeply flowing, unstoppable, dope style. After another skit, the album is closed by "Blender Talk", a jazzy beat with slow and pounding drum machine, and "Stay Sane", a trap rhythm with dark samples and a good delivery of Chase Fetti.
After the good "Mandatory Respect" with Flee Lord, Chase Fetti keeps in touch with the best emcees emerging from the Empire State and delivers this other tape, 23 minutes and 11 short songs: 38 Spesh brings a lively and dynamic production, but not too incisive, while the rapper delivers his thug lyrics with good style.
Highlights: "The Life", "Own Pots".
Rating: 6.5/10.
