O.C. & Debonair P — Dive In EP

Collaborative project between New York rapper OC and Melbourne, Australia producer and DJ Debonair P, with the help of PF Cuttin. The record is released by the underground hip-hop label from Melbourne Gentleman's Relief Records with vinyl format in limited edition in Australia.

The title track opens the EP with a light jazzy rhythm, various scratched samples, good delivery of O.C. on the production of the Australian producer Debonair P; simple hook, minimal and syncopated drum machine, raw and cold in the background, decent jazzy beat. "Foolish" also presents various samples scratched for composing the chorus, Credle pays homage to the Wu-Tang and delivers velvety on a simple, jazzy, light beat with a shiny and raw drum machine in the background, a bit syncopated.

"God Praise" continues the tradition of this EP of hooks built with samples from other artists, decent and fluid delivery of Omar Credle on a simple, essential, dark, circular jazzy rhythm, minimal and skeletal drum machine in the background. The fourth piece presents a chorus formed on scratched samples, smooth and decent delivery of the Brooklyn emcee on simple, light jazzy boom bap, raw and heavy drum machine, skeletal in the background, good rhythm, honest track. All instrumental tunes are pretty mild, have light but generic jazzy productions, with a drum machine in evidence, skeletal and raw, often syncopated. Nothing interesting, nothing to write down. 6/10.
