This guy still wants to joke. Now I'll have to go and listen to that third Beastie Boys album again, incomparable to the previous one, to understand if it really sucks and this guy still wants to joke.
Fourth album, production is badly cheap, rapping is ridiculous. Biz sings here, speaks. There is little rap. Cool V, Grand Daddy IU and Todd Ray make a rhythm each, but they have no intention of ruining their careers with a whole badly produced album, can you pity them? Salaam Remi has more courage and puts down two rhythms. Biz himself is forced to produce the remaining beats, with obviously poor results that over a poor rapping do nothing but make this noise worse.
Absolutely useless effort, not recommended: the last funny thing this guy did was four years ago, on a record that sucked, by the way. Fortunately, his contract with Warner Bros. ended, while Cold Chillin', which gave him the opportunity to release more material, has failed. Despite everything, the album still manages to attract audiences and critics, Christgau seems to be the only one who understood the irony of this project, the other reviewers don't seem to have much desire to laugh. 3.5/10.
