Cassette by Graveyard Productions aka Children of the Corn, produced entirely by Lil Grimm. The Memphis group is made up of eight interpreters, I can't tell you who does what here, in any case, they all do a sublime work.
The production extracted from Grimm is hitting differently, because unlike most of the cassettes you can find, he uses melodic samples from soul and spins them to sound creepy, there are several samples from the Isley Brothers for example, which create a gorgeous dark atmosphere. The rapping of the boys is regular, smooth, calm, the lyricism puts on the table typical topics of the Memphis scene such as violence, crime, horror, and even the devil, on which Mike Mike and Lil Grimm deliver the all-time favorite "Devil Shit", one of the main tracks of the local scene. Overall, the tape suffers from too many tracks, and exceeds the listening time, however, in the whole first part it sounds essential. On the internet you may find the tape released as in 1994, a mistake, as there's a sample from Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" in the first track. I leave a handful of songs that stand out more easily from the rest.
Highlights: "Children of the Corn", "Grab My Mask", "Black Magic", "No One Can Save You", "Devil Shit", "No Matter Whatever", "I Can't Be Killed", "Wicked Ways".
Rating: 8/10.
