Tape tribute to Kanye West, to represent part of his legacy, and it's an excellent tape. Just over a quarter of an hour in which Cookin Soul collects scattered fragments of the best Kanye and combines them together with a particularly flawless production. The simple, light, essential, jazzy and soulful rhythms accompany Kanye's freestyles, skits and acapellas with the help of splendid soulful samples looped in the background.
"4 Yall" introduces the tape with a splendid soulful, essential, simple jazzy boom bap with Kanye skit, female soulful sample looped in the background; "Bitterwest" is opened by another of these samples, essential and deep light jazzy rhythm, light boom bap, then the third cut makes its way: splendid lively and cheerful rhythm, syncopated boom bap, smooth and rapid delivery of Kanye, excellent flow fit with the beat pulled out of Cookin Soul. Final left to the male soulful sample looped in background, perfect. A light boom bap follows with a vibrant and cheerful, frenetic piano, tense arches in the background, an excellent rhythm that is the background of a skit. "GOTD" presents another great rhythm, modern and complex jazzy boom bap, the producer extracts a good freestyle of Kanye and genial samples from "What Did I Do Wrong?" of the 52nd Street. "Real Life" has another splendid rhythm from Cookin Soul, a light jazzy beat with a simple boom bap, then Kanye's overbeat freestyle, then the beatmaker places a simple and essential rockin' rhythm on it, a vibrant boom bap, a nice rhythm. Skit, then another Kanye freestyle, Cookin Soul provides a simple boom bap, jazzy rhythm with Middle Eastern vibes, good mix. Skit, then a short freestyle on a simple and melodic jazzy rhythm, closes a last masterpiece beat of the producer: skeletal, light and minimal drum machine, beautiful soulful jazzy rhythm in the background, with strings, freestyle dope by Kanye. 7.5/10.
