Sequel to the album released four months earlier and fourth studio album for NY rapper Little Vic. Like the previous one, it maintains titles related to organized crime. The music set is build by Jeremy Ford, Tzarizm, Lord Goat, Menza, 88-Keys, Little Vic and KVBeats.
"Gerry Lang" is the nickname of Gennaro Langella, underboss and Godfather of the Colombo family during the imprisonment of Carmine Persico, a figure to which Billy Cutolo is also linked. He's a Colombo soldier in the team of "Little Vic" Orena, protagonist of the war within the family for the role of Godfather between Orena and Carmine Persico, lost by Orena. Cutolo is first demoted to soldier, later promoted to the rank of underboss, finally, with the indictment of the boss Alphonse Persico, he becomes the natural heir to the role of Godfather, a fact that displeases the members of the family to the point of murdering him.
John Stanfa is the driver of Angelo Bruno, Godfather of the homonymous crime family in Philadelphia: the Godfather is killed, unaware of the Commission, which has the alleged instigator of the murder killed, Bruno's Consigliere. Later Stanfa is imprisoned and, released from jail, in the early nineties should have control of the scene in Philadelphia, but the new faces of the city crime, do not recognize him, in a situation similar to that of "Carlito's Way": a mafia war arises in the city, Stanfa risks his life and ends up in prison again.
Tommy Agro is a Gambino soldier and the Gallo Bros are Colombo soldiers: unhappy with the management of Profaci, Lawrence, Joe and Albert revolted against him, causing two internal feuds (1960, 1971), only Albert survived, then passed to the Genovese family to definitively stop the feud. Christopher "Christy Tick" Furnari quickly climbs the hierarchies of the Lucchese family thanks to his friendship with Anthony Corallo, and becomes a soldier when the books are still closed. Although the mafia family is better rooted in the Bronx, over the years he has made a solid name for himself in the streets of Brooklyn, so much so that, when the fledgling Russian mafia is in trouble, he turns to him for protection, having reached the rank of Consigliere in the family, which he'll hold for over a decade.
Last, Aniello Dellacroce joins the Mangano family, which will become the Gambino family, under the dependence of the underboss Albert Anastasia. He gets the rank of boss with the promotion of Anastasia and those of underboss with the death of Anastasia, going under the command of Carlo Gambino. When Gambino also passes to the other world, Dellacroce would be the natural successor at the head of the family, but Gambino had preferred Castellano: Dellacroce is forced to agree to remain Castellano's underboss, but the fact provokes the ire of Dellacroce's protégé, a young soldier who will organize the murder of the Godfather, unaware of the Commission, John Gotti.
It's quite interesting that this rapper practically unknown to the mainstream and who also remains quite hidden from the eyes of the immense underground hip-hop scene, with two releases has put more names of real mafia than all the other artists of the mafia rap in the last 30 years. His style is smooth, slow and hardcore, he delivers his bars in a similar style to his previous record, however this project feels slightly inferior. The tight flow and the quarter of an hour of overall listening gives the project a nice replay value, even the production plays its part with dark and gloomy samples and a good jazzy soundscape, peaking in the sixth cut thanks to a splendid elegant piano left to breathe.
Rating: 7.5/10.
