Instrumental tape by Cookin Soul. Skit, then starts a vibrant and cheerful jazzy rhythm, good beat by Cookin Soul. The second rhythm chosen by the producer, has its jazzy connotations and is quite simple, with an excellent soulful female sample looped in the background to reinforce a discreet, but not excellent, minimal beat.
The third cut, "The Kicker", is incredibly mediocre, with a soft, uninspired jazzy rhythm, simple and minimal drum machine, syncopated, which does not scratch anything here. "Addicted" isn't too different from the previous one, here too simple jazzy rhythm, minimal and syncopated drum machine, very simple, essential beat, with male soul sample looped in the background. The next song is modest: light jazzy rhythm, essential and minimal, bare drum machine and syncopated in the background.
Best vibes in the sixth track, "Where's My Towel", with the drum machine that finally makes sense, always minimal and skeletal, on a light jazzy rhythm with a trumpet loop in the background. We fasten our belts for the first very strong highlights of the tape, after several little more than boring cuts: skeletal and simple drum machine, crystalline and crisp boom bap, female soulful sample looped tight in the background and dope, tight jazzy beat to complete an excellent musical background which is connected to the following instrumental track, "Still Not Lying (Hold Me)": beautiful change of rhythm, with boom bap still protagonist on a cheerful but melancholic jazzy beat, made such by the looped male soulful sample and the splendid distant cornets in the background. These two are the best instrumental tracks present in this tape. "Jazzwave" follows, another pretty good instrumental: jazzy rhythm with strings, skeletal and minimal drum machine.
Amazing midtempo jazzy beat for "Beach Bullies", fantastic; simple, minimal boom bap, relaxing vibes. The following cut presents a skeletal and heavy drum machine, very hard, tight, light jazzy rhythm in the background and looped soul samples that are both kidnapped by the drum machine, which seems to escape the police intervention, the rhythm becomes tense, perhaps the investigation is going in the right direction, when the drum machine is about to be rightly shut down, a skit interrupts everything. "Burnt" arrives, minimal and hard boom bap, tight and cheerful jazzy rhythm, quite good rhythm, without too many excesses. "Chancletas" closes, a splendid heavenly jazzy rhythm thanks to the strings in background, simple and light boom bap, soulful sample looped in background, excellent Cookin Soul production.
Highlights: "No Lie"/"Still Not Lying ("Hold Me"), "Beach Bullies", "Chancletas".
Rating: 7/10.
