O.C. — O-Zone Originals Part 2 EP

In 2011, New York rapper OC releases a third effort of the "O-Zone Originals" series. MC Serch is the unique guest of the tape, while the set of beats is made by Buckwild, DJ Ogee and Da Beatminerz. The extended play is composed by eight tracks recorded in 1994-1996 period and previously unreleased, the tape is distributed by No Sleep Recordings in vinyl format and in a limited edition.

Buckwild supplies well-made dark jazzy productions, reaching excellence dropping "Master Ya High", on which he places an easily accessible beat seasoned with xmas bells so dear to him; despite the lukewarm boom bap in the background, OC flows well, and this tracks stands out as the finest one here, easily. "Sharp As a Knife" also works, similar rhythm, skeletal with a looped piano, the rapper delivery convinced, determined. The Beatminerz realized a song with an alternative underground rhythm (also disturbing) on which the artist delivers honestly and more smoothly than usual. To DJ Ogee the remaining cuts, it's good on "Flipside" — amazing cheerful jazzy boom bap, easy-going delivery by Omar Credle and also the hook works — he pulls out a dystopian and skeletal beat for "Gone", where the emcee appears dully. There's also an alternative version of "Stronjay" ("Hidden Gems" one) and the EP closes with a sort of skit composed of a bouncy and dystopian boom bap on which OC delivers together with MC Serch.
