Hus Kingpin — Wavo in La [mixtape]

This second 2020 Hus Kingpin mixtape takes up part of the cover of his 2017 studio album "Cocaine": six songs, about thirteen minutes total.

The first rhythm is composed of a thin and tight drum, annoying, Hus delivers with a slow and light flow. "Gin n Juice" is no better, there are annoying g-funk synths in the background, and the style the rapper chooses in this tape doesn't help. The third song has a simple rhythm, with a thumping, slow and annoying drum that annihilates the Brooklyn rapper's delivery. I have no idea who did the production on this mixtape, but the guys did so bad in these first five minutes.

On the fourth try, an accessible beat comes out: decent jazzy boom bap with good sample and tight tearing drum, Hus spits bars with decent smooth flow. "Killers" is inferior to the previous one, but it's better than the first tracks, so the tape is sealed by "Know Your Goat", where Hus performs on a jazzy rhythm with snare drum and dystopian-Silenthillian samples. This is his least successful project of the year, not recommended. 5/10.
