Third and final chapter of the "Lord Talk Trilogy", opened by his debut studio album and continued with his fourth album. Effort number nine for Flee Lord this year. Almost half-hour of listening, ten tracks, guests like Ransom, Eto, and TF. The music is entirely provided by the underground producer godBLESSbeatz. The covers of the trilogy have always carried religious references, but this one made by Cep is extraordinary.
Simple intro, boom bap jazzy, dope, great slow smoothness delivery by Flee Lord, then another great rhythm, jazzy dope boom bap with elegant piano looped in the background, simple hook, great velvet dope flow by Flee Lord that silences the others and goes on with his mission. "Supply & Demand" boasts a jazzy boom bap with perfect drum, great music sample and smooth dope delivery by the NY rapper; simple hook, then change of rhythm with light beat and dark piano for the spoken outro.
"Tfoh" features a good elegant piano looped in the background and honest samples, preceding the arrival of Ransom, first guest on the tape: amazing jazzy boom bap, vibrant drum, sax sample in the background, Flee Lord's smooth dope delivery, Ransom has unstoppable flow, excellent joint. In the sixth choice, "My Life on a Beat", Flee Lord traces his past over a jazzy bap boom with male soul samples amidst shooting, delivering bars with a slow and flowing style. TF is the second guest of the tape in "Lord Mobbin'", jazzy boom bap with lean drum and tightly looped piano in the background.
"Hell or High Water" features a jazzy beat with meager drum machine, male soul sample tightly looped in the background and a hardcore slow syncopated delivery of Flee Lord; then Eto arrives, he jokes with the rhythm, genius, delivering slow and syncopated, dope. A deep female soulful sample looped in the background, wonderful, livens up "Hot Boxin'". After the hook, the beat stops mid-track and a second beat is born, jazzy boom bap with decent piano looped tightly in the background. The tenth and final song is an outro: beautiful melodic, celestial female soulful sample looped in the background, perfect drum, light jazzy boom bap, spoken outro by Flee Lord, then a few bars in rapping.
I don't think the hip-hop scene will see again a series of albums that are as good or better in quality than Flee released over such a long period in the year of the Lord (Lord) two zero (two zero). This is another short and excellent project: the godBLESSbeats production is dusty, gloomy, brilliantly jazzy, with great soulful and musical samples, perfect for the fluid and clean style of Flee Lord, which is confirmed here as one of the best MCs ever emerged from Queens.
Highlights: "Line Stay Buzzin'", "Supply & Demand", "Real Recognize Real", "My Life on a Beat", "Hell or High Water", "Hot Boxin'".
