TooBusy — Red Tape

First album-producer tape released by TooBusy. Guests are Ruste Juxx, Blaq Poet, Low Tha Bow, Keith Murray, Pacewon, Aela Hopeful Monster, Reks, Edo G, Billy Danze, El da Sensei, Ill Bill, Planet Asia and Rah Digga.

Fifteen tracks, three interludes, about 38 minutes of material that for the most part is bland and harmless. These guys spit normally on generic, simplistic rhythms. There are no too weak tracks and there are no bangers. The first part is quite boring and forgettable, Keith Murray seems to be sleeping, he doesn't seem to want to rap, the beat doesn't help him. The first noteworthy track coincides with the arrival of Reks, who lights up the tape with a good rap on an accessible melodic production.

Edo G goes well, then Billy Danze kills his piece with a hardcore style: over a good rhythm with a lean midtempo drum and melodic samples, the MC delivers powerful and energetic, giving everyone a wake up call. The soul chorus is also good. The last section isn't that solid, although it's clearly superior to the first part thanks to the likes of Ill Bill and Planet Asia, who at least is trying to give some oomph to this bland tape. The effort retains no replay value and falls flat, at the expense of an outro that boasts the best rhythm of the disk, bright and ethereal, cathartic. 6/10.
