First effort of a productive 2019 by El Camino, Griselda rapper on the second studio album. This record sees a street rapping with classic Griselda arguments aimed at the mafia rap fueled by a dark and jazzy production.
The Artivist opens with a splendid heavenly soulful boom bap jazzy, tight looped soulful sample, on which Buffalo's MC delivers in its own timely, smooth way. "Devotion" follows, a beautiful soulful, celestial boom bap jazzy, created by the beatmaker duo DJ Shay & Nicholas Craven. El Camino doesn't fails to deliver, shiny, tight, clean, flowing, the excellent choice of the soulful sample looped tight projects this song among the gems of the disc and also presents a nice change of beat in the end, with another boom bap jazzy soulful, other bars in the face spitted by El Camino, foolproof. DJ Shay remains to produce the next two songs, two excellent tight jazzy rhythms, the first has a nice soulful sample looped in background and the second has a more dirty and underground sound, in both the rapper doesn't disfigure. Benny the Butcher is the first guest chosen for this effort and contributes to placing this project among the 2019 must-listens with a mafia effort in "Venice Beach", DirtyDiggs' tight and essential triumphant jazzy production.
Icerocks DXA creates a light and jazzy beat, wonderful, for the rapper's subdued delivery in "Flu Game", another solid track. "Redrum" also flows pretty quickly despite the dry, dark boom bap chosen by Shay, a tense and rhythm on which Elcamino drops verses managing to maintain this gloomy mood. Following the song he dedicates to his brother on a light and relaxed jazzy rhythm, before "Too Grimey for the Radio": boom bap jazzy skeletal and simple, rough by Chris Ruben, Elcamino keeps it under control with a delivery careful and Mehyem destroys the cut, one of the best of this LP. "Nine on My Lap" sees the presence of Conway on an excruciating and rhythm of Boodeini, well Elcamino, then The Machine offers a valid variation to the serious flow heard so far. "Alter Prayer" is the latest song by DJ Shay, a fast and jazzy rhythm where the rapper speeds up his flow, then Crimeapple devastates the song with a grueling flow, Shay had pulled out a productive masterpiece here. On a production by the rapper Termanology, "Hidden Hills", short piece, hurried jazzy beat, El Camino pulls out a smoothness, energetic and rough verse to close his second studio album.
It's a good and smooth project, among his best in the discography of the Buffalo rapper.
