Rochester makes his gritty voice heard on this Black Geez album entirely produced by Eto. The guests are Street Justice and 38 Spesh.
They kills their cuts, keeping things firmly on the dusty and raw city streets: Street Justice rips the "Strangers" track, with a rough and dark delivery and a fluid flow, while "Holy Water" has an incredible light jazzy boom bap, with amazing soulful female sample looped for the hook, Black Geez offers a solid delivery, then 38 Spesh kills the song with a smooth, rough and sharp verse.
Before them, it's also noted Che Noir, uncredited: on the simple and jazzy rhythm of "Trust Gang", with a soulful male sample looped tight in the background and elegant piano, her steals the show by bringing out a smoothness and dope verse, confirming herself as one of the best rapper of the moment. Eto also takes the field sometimes to help Black Geez to sort the tracks, churning out an incredible series of enviable beats: among the best, "War Angels", which comes after two strong pieces and is painted with beautiful soulful female samples close in the background, ethereal-celestial, good jazzy rhythm and worthy delivery of the duo.
It's an excellent short album in which Black Geez drops flowing and raw verses, aided by a light and fine jazzy production, with excellent soulful samples that seasoned his performances.
Highlights: "New Crack Era", "Trust Gang", "Fathers day", "Strangers", "Holy Water", "War Angels".
Rating: 6.5/10.
