Second album released by X-Raided, «an inmate in Sacramento County Jail». Production and mixing are handled by Ill, the rap is recorded by telephone directly from the prison and, to the aid of the lead author in order to complete the product, arrive Babe Regg, Lunasicc, Da Misses, Chopah, Killa Hoe, Brotha Lynch Hung and Sicx.
The music chosen by Ill sounds shoddy and very cheap and I don't know what work he did to the mix, the fact is that the songs sound as if he had simply put X-Raided's vocals on top of the beats: the low sound quality attenuates the little energy of the rapper and brings out the questionable contribution of the other performers.
Da Misses sounds well over the course of the record and Lunasicc has the song that sounds more professional, "Wanna Get High?": this choice is a weed ballad performed in a relaxed style, with lush, melodic g-funk synths, a production that sounds less economical than everything else, even though it's still cheap, and a captivating sample from Mtume.
The g-funk synths are annoying from the first moments they're introduced and, musically, the tape is difficult to deal with, even if the rap of X-Raided is better than most of its contemporaries. The artist leaves us a cover that is a pearl, in which the cross is present three times: the first at the top left, that of the church, also represents the "x" of his name, the other two are inserted in the title, one inside the "o" and the other is the "t", which covers the other cross of the church.
Rating: 5/10.
