Debut album by The Legend Lady J, rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. The tape is produced entirely by DJ Zae for OB Records and consists of 8 tunes and 35 minutes of listening: the production is closer to southern sounds than the local scene, while, lyrically, it goes directly to Cali. The beatmaker always places a snare drum that releases bad and hard-to-deal music, despite the fact that he combines catchy and excellent samples in the first part, offering cheap and indecent excerpts on the B-side. On these musical carpets, The Legend Lady J flows worthily with a slow, syncopated, at times melodic, honest flow, which in the second part becomes cumbersome. The lyricism, which remains halfway between West Coast gangsta and Memphis horrorcore, doesn't quite fit her, and it comes out as an erratic tape, with one strong point: "Chronic Dope", a cut that maintains the identity of the Memphis scene, slow snare drum, excellent samples, minimal rhythm and a slow syncopated rapping by Lady J. 5/10.
