Promo mixtape for Wu Block's album, a collaborative project between Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ghostface Killah and The LOX rapper Sheek Louch. The tape is known as a b-side project to the album and is also listed as "Wu-Tang Clan & D-Block". There are no production credits and credited guests are Trife da God of TMF, Beanie Sigel of State Property, Lil' Cease of Junior MAFIA and Papoose.
It sounds exactly like an amateur mixtape made by amateurs for amateurs, but it appears to be a legitimate release, for whatever reason. It's released by eOne, but fails to generate sales. I don't know if selling it as a "mixtape" is a sufficient excuse to make such a effortless product. Mainly made by Ghostface & Sheek Louch, there are Chef Raekwon, Styles P and Jadakiss somewhere in the introductory title track, but for a few moments. We have "The Heist" (or "Youngstown Heist"), a track taken from "Wu-Massacre" (2010) and the only one with a producer credited, Scram Jones: another simple rhythms and random thug bars, and Papoose too, yes. With Lil Cease, to bring down some chaotic bars in a Wu Tang D Block posse on a rhythm soiled by deep synths, full of elements, confused and confusing, a little bit like this whole project. In the finale, there are at least four songs that subtract beats from classic tracks, honestly I don't want to look for them.
Rating: 4/10.
