Collaborative studio album between Pink Siifu and Fly Anakin, rappers from Birmingham, Alabama, and Richmond, Virginia, respectively.
It's produced by a dozen different beatmakers, including Jay Versace, Madlib and Animoss, and there are a few guests, including SilkMoney & Liv.e. Siifu & Anakin face an interesting concept, two men who manage a vinyl store, making a record of 47 minutes and 22 pieces, a third of which are skits. Behind the keyboards no one stands out particularly: Jay Versace offers a good rhythm with elegant piano loops and very distant drum in the background, almost inaudible, while Madlib disappoints by offering a generic rhythm among the worst of the edition.
Most of the guests deliver solid performances, and Fousheé gives one of the best moments of the tape in "Creme's Interlude". The whole project is fluid and relaxed, the two MCs show good chemistry: they play and have fun with effortless calm flows, performed on a relaxed jazzy landscape, mainly light boom baps composed of syncopated and slow drums, sometimes distant in the background, elegant piano loops and melodic jazzy and soul samples. Good tape, recommended to fans of the two artists. 7/10.
