YoungBoy Never Broke Again — 38 Baby 2 [mixtape]

After the winter "Still Flexin, Still Steppin", Gaulden places another record at number 1 on hip hop albums chart in spring 2020.

Most people are quarantined in the western part of the world when Gaulden releases his mixtape, but the other real novelty compared to his previous album is that this tape reaches the first place in the pop chart. I don't know whose credit it's for having realized that ten more minutes of random noise would have given the tape a better chance of reaching the top or if there is really a merit: "Still Flexin, Still Steppin" was a mixtape born to get to the top, it was practically another #1 in the Top 200, however it was only overtaken by BTS, k-pop group hyped by global critics and with an incredible number of physical copies sold.

Gaulden aka YoungBoy Never Broke Again goes back here, with a tape that comes close to being a good copy of the previous effort: cheap and forgettable trap rhythms, personal and mediocre lyrics, some decent rnb fillers, little quality, lots of quantity, sterile and lazy product in the end. The noble aesthetes of quality music pass on to future griots a line misinterpreted by the aesthetes themselves after a few seconds in the hook of the first tune and the host of the trapper's mother always in the first song, "Bout My Business", at this point just listen to that and move on. 4/10.
