First album of the year for the Buffalo rapper Marche "Che Noir" Lashawn. The artist from Rochester 38 Spesh is the producer. The guests are Eto, Jai Black, Ransom, Planet Asia, Street Justice and Klass Murda.
Skit, then Che Noir dominates the triumphant boom bap jazzy that 38 Spesh provides in "Art of War", dope ish. The following track presents a boom bap jazzy midtempo skinny and essential, with badly looped soul samples in the background, good flowing delivery of the rapper who's overpoweringly leaving the Buffalo scene. "Concrete Jungle" has a splendid boom bap jazzy midtempo with strings, which Noir crashes the cut, obscuring Eto and Jai Black despite their pretty solid deliveries. Good boom bap dark jazzy on the next song, good smoothness delivery of the female rapper, Ransom slightly superior.
Skit that opens "Crown", boom bap jazzy with skinny and syncopated drum machine, good delivery of Che Noir. Planet Asia on the hook, Street Justice closes with an excellent relaxed and velvet flow. Skit, then Che Noir accelerates in "Queen City" on a deep jazzy rhythm with beautiful strings and a rapid boom bap, immense and short song, clean, dope. For the next track, 38 Spesh draws a nice deep and gloomy jazzy boom bap, which Noir delivers very well also with this musical soundscape. The tape is closed by a splendid boom bap jazzy with a soulful female sample looped in the background, good delivery by the Buffalo rapper; the record is closed by the affiliates of 38 Spesh, Street Justice and Klass Murda, in a joint that breathes Rochester.
This album, which takes place between a short tape and a long EP, has a couple of skits and half is covered by the guests, but it's a good spot for Che Noir's talent and for the flawless jazzy production of 38 Spesh.
Highlights: "Art of War", "Crown", "Queen City", "Royalty".
Rating: 7.5/10.
