First original collective effort by the GxFR (read Griselda) family: presents Conway, Westside Gunn and Mach-Hommy, at the time (2016) signed with the Buffalo label and part of the group Griselda, which angrily delivers an hardcore EP that brings back the gangsta at its origins, it's one of the grimiest efforts you can face. Daringer's production is typical of the collective sound and is based on jazzy and slow rhythms that need to be left to breathe in order to be more appreciated.
The EP is opened by "Chyna", Daringer offers a good jazzy rhythm with deep guitar riff looped in the background and a dope delivery of the trio with very short verses and lethal lines. It follows "Stove Tops", Daringer's splendid light jazzy and skeletal boom bap, dark beat, excellent deliveries by the trio, dope here. Mach-Hommy leads the way in the next cut, Westside eats the song, he destroys the rhythm with a masterpiece delivery on the boom bap jazzy with tight looped soul sample made by the genius of Daringer. Conway is the icing on the cake. A very tense and obscure, almost silenthillian jazzy boom bap follows.
"Ajax" is one of the two best tracks of this long EP: very tense, very dark, dystopian boom bap jazzy, provided by Alchemist, excellent delivery by Westside Gunn and Conway, Gunn slaps the rhythm in the last verse, «classic» status. This collective effort is closed by "Benz Window", the other track that enters directly into the highlights. Amazing light jazzy beat, Conway closes the tape with the legend Prodigy, classic ish.
Highlights: "Ajax", "Benz Window".
Rating: 8.3/10.
