Conway — The Worst of Conway [mixtape]

Conway's second mixtape. As for the previous one, this too follows the production of DJ Khaled, with heavy and simplistic rhythms that are often lightened here to facilitate the slow and flowing delivery of Conway.

"Click Clack" is the introductory track, skit followed by frenetic and tight, heavy, slow, hardcore jazzy boom bap. The next song is slightly better, thanks to a simple rhythm with strings in the background. Production is more simplistic, tight and heavy (sometimes annoying) starting from "We Gettin Doe", where Kutter & Benny come to help Conway in the delivery. The subsequent tracks show some extract of talent from the two Griselda rappers. "Go In" is a rare solo cut by Conway in this first part of the tape, delivering decently on a tight and essential jazzy boom bap with a looped piano in the background. "If U Ain't Gotta Gun" follows, with Benny & Machine Gun Black over a tight and heavy jazzy beat. The central part of the mixtape foresees the same guests on the same simplistic rhythms, which preventing some rockin ("Rock n Roll") and g-funk variations ("Bout It Bout It", with an uptempo jazzy rhythm).

The second part of this effort sees a decisive change of music towards a more jazzy production, it's mainly a Conway solo and started with "Never", a good simple and essential jazzy rhythm with minimal and skeletal drum machine. In addition, there's a female soul sample looped tight in background (here never listen before, although it then becomes a classic trademark for future Griselda efforts) on which Conway delivers lively and easy-going. Slightly better song than the previous ones in terms of production. So, "Freestyle", simplistic and tight jazzy beat, annoying, decent delivery of Conway, but unlistenable piece. "Gangsta Shit" is quite average as a whole, even the subsequent songs are not distinguished from the rest of the game despite some decent bars and soulful variations ("So Soulful", an attempt to triumphant rhythm). "Go in 2" is one of the cheaper productions of the tape, then a posse arrives with Kutter, Machine Gun Black and D-Black. The last track is a simplistic and cheap jazzy rhythm with a female soulful sample looped in background, Conway delivers worthily.

Tape pretty cheap, with simplistic rhythms and basically no highlights. Not recommended.
