Debut album for the Los Angeles rap duo composed of Cary Calvin and Austin Patterson, who under the names of Havoc & Prodeje are among the founders of the South Central Cartel collective.
Production is mainly done by Prodeje and Christian "Jam-O-Rama" Johnson, SCC beatmaker DJ Ace has two rhythms, Masters of the Game produces the twelfth track; while in the rapping part, in addition to the two MCs, also appear the members of the SCC Havikk the Rhime Son, M-Squad, LV, and the affiliates La DJ, Powerfull Jell, Sweet P and Wes Word. The rhythms sometimes recall the East Coast while maintaining the typical LA sound, with fresh funky samples and slow drums, there's a lot of cheap production, relaxed and sparse, some synths, while the two performers spit lines with a slow and fluid style. Guests have decent flows, but none impress. Overall, the record recalls the eighties, boasting the typical Syl Johnson sample in "Layin Low (Part 1)" and also the mandatory rnb ballad in "Gonna Getcha". With 63 minutes of listening that's pretty long as an LP, however, West Coast fans might find something interesting.
Side note: if you look at the cover you will see the first damage of Powerpoint. 7/10.
