Conway the Machine — Everybody Is F.O.O.D. 3 EP

Recorded in two days, released in April 2019, the third episode of the "Everybody Is Food" series is a enough enjoyable extended play. Maybe not totally successful, because a certain level of quality is expected from Conway. In this effort there are no falls, except for a half slip with the entrance of Berner's verse, which is mediocre negligible. And there are no Daringer beats (!), but K-Sluggah and JR Swiftz don't make him regret their successful musical choices. Also good DJ Skizz with the final piece.

The EP plays on Conway's tight delivery and jazzy rhythms (amazing that "E.I.F." one, props to K-Sluggah), minimal with some curious variations in the first joints. Then the quality drops — appreciable the jazzy downtempo of "Egyptian Cloth", still K-Sluggah production — and culminates in "London Pound": the very deep jazzy beat with trap influences deserved to be left to breathe for a dozen seconds, instead Berner he immediately attacks it with a rather weak and insignificant delivery, after his verse Conway delivers a flawless verse, purely dope, which enhances the perfection of the boom bap midtempo chosen by Cookin Soul. Unfortunately Berner starts first and doesn't offer worthily, wastes an excellent and beautiful rhythm, luckily Conway manages to tear it in the second half. It'd be among the best tracks on the record, which is why I recommend the only Conway performance that you can find on Cookin Soul's youtube/soundcloud.

Check out "London Pound" without Berner.

Rating: 6/10.
