Little jewel, among the most refined pearls in the discography of one of the greatest exponents of the return of the gangsta, and of the much-renegade mafioso. It's one of his best EPs, among the most solid: less than 15 minutes, Griselda lyrics, simple dark jazzy rhythms, tight and grimy rapping, most tracks have a unique verse. The production is made by Mr. Green, while the project is solo like [almost] none of his projects has ever been.
Kool Herc's intro on guitar licks and jazzy boom bap, then "Part Deux", immediately a great cut: cheerful jazzy boom bap, simple drum machine, Westside Gunn intro, he takes his time, then delivers a single smoothness and dark verse, dope, «this shit seems like "Hitler [Wears Hermes] II"». "Stash House" follows, magnificent boom bap jazzy, intro, then the rhythm slows down for the immediate chorus, which Westside interprets with a rapid delivery, there are no pauses to drop the only verse of the piece with a rough flow, perpetually smooth, fast, dry, shiny on this high level production, incredible work.
So, bridge where the rhythm slows down again, time is suspended here, WSG continues to spit and the beat never returns. Excellent tune. "Trash Bag" follows, an imperceptible boom bap on a jazzy lean rhythm, the rapper from Buffalo delivers on nothing, then the beat starts, dark and disturbing with a skeletal drum machine, and he puts out a couple of tight verses. "Eight Seconds" has a sickly jazzy midtempo rhythm, a light and tense boom bap, sometimes gloomy, Westside Gunn delivers straight, dark, smooth. One verse, fantastic. "Brazy" is the last cut: boom bap bleak jazzy and without drum machine, intro, then gradually with the listening the delivery of Gunn becomes faster while the beat that at first seems positive starts to get darker, culminating in the finale before "dying".
