Anthony "Tony D" Depula is a rapper and producer from Trenton, New Jersey. After working on production realizing underground disks in New Jersey, in the late eighties Depula signs first with Tommy Boy parent label Body Rock publishing the single "It's My Day", then with Sure Shot Records and releases his debut instrumental LP in 1989. Around 1990, Tony D deals with 4th & Broadway — it means that Island is behind this release — and drops a new CD with the moniker Harvee Wallbangar.
Entirely self-produced, the product maintains a twisted Italian feel right from the cover, where, however, the flag is turned upside down for whatever reason. The author decides to invent a new moniker and places himself at the center of the image as your average rapper. He comes out with the second effort after a debut practically ignored by the public and critics, so much so that for many insiders this 1991 album is his debut in the rap game. The boy is both a producer and rapper, he doesn't show a particular talent in this two disciplines, and his lyrics are pretty generic, spitted with an irregular and syncopated hardcore rapping style: however, the album is coherent and quite pleasant, especially in the second half, with increasingly fresh, jazzy-funky rhythms and a slow and skeletal drum machine in the background. 6/10.
