In late winter of 2020, Princess Nokia released two products that are sides of the same coin, "Everything Is Beautiful" and "Everything Sucks", her second and third studio albums respectively.
The album is immediately difficult to deal with, due to a bad trap production and banal simplistic lyrics interpreted with a monotonous rapping style. The rhythms chosen in this album are weak, boring and too similar to each other, while the lyricism of Princess Nokia is trivial, its delivery without effort and without energy is easily ignored, this effort sounds bad from start to finish, which is why it's easy to make critics happy with such an appropriate title. "Gross" sounds better than the others, but the rapper continues to sounds badly.
The next song has a beat that yes, it might as well go, but Princess Nokia's intro is ridiculous and her syncopated rapping isn't any better. "I Like Him" has a subdued rhythm and a subdued delivery with phone keys looped in the background: this is the first tune that I brought to the bottom of the entire album. We arrive, in some way, to the seventh song: subdued rhythm, but the delivery struggles to arrive, here it's beyond the mumble.
Fortunately, there's "Balenciaga" to liven up the whole project: it's rightly believed to be the best song of this project, it has a good subdued trap rhythm, but the rapper sounds not good and her delivery's unwilling, she doesn't entertain for these two and a half minutes: she says "I'm so fly" as if someone were going to shoot her in the head with a revolver after being held as a prisoner for months. It follows a... meh, another track that I haven't been able to pass beyond the minute, here the girl sings, sings badly, subdued rhythm, mumble delivery. Closes "Just a Kid", neither better nor worse than the previous ones. Not recommended.
Rating: 3.3/10.
