In 1994, Racionais MC's are an irrepressible force in the Brazilian music scene, so much so that they were arrested by the police at the end of a concert in downtown São Paulo.
In the same year, the group released a compilation that collects all the tracks of their three previous efforts ("Holocausto urbano", "Escolha o seu caminho", "Raio X Brasil"), except the intro and outro of the studio album and the song "Beco sem saída" of the debut EP. Distributed by Zimbabwe Records and the local division of Warner via Continental, the disc covers 13 tracks and over 73 minutes: entirely produced by KL Jay, and performed mainly by Mano Brown and Edi Rock, with a few Ice Blue bars every now and then, the effort is a concentrate of powerful conscious and socio-political cuts, full of vivid narratives about life in the suburbs, with some fillers on women. Must-listen.
"Fim de semana no parque", "Mano na porta do bar", "Homem na estrada", "Voz ativa" and "Pânico na Zona Sul" are mandatory.
