Showbiz & AG — Mugshot Music

Ten years after the release of their last official studio album as a duo, Showbiz & AG return to publish something with this release, their third LP. The music is handled by Showbiz. DJ Premier co-produces "Timeless". Parks mixes the whole disk. Frank V. (of Proper Dos) and Jeffrey Nortey (who's is featured in Show & KRS-One joint album "Godsville") are the major guests, with four appearances each. The other guests are OC and DITC affiliated rappers Party Arty and A Bless.

The production focuses on the dark jazzy boom bap pulling out good results on basically every track, shamefully the performers aren't up to these beats: only OC hit the target ("Every Time I Touch the Mic"). "Ain't Shit Changed" is among the best track here: cheerful jazzy boom bap, cheerfully easy-going delivery by AG. AG's rapping lost the energy it had originally, his delivery has lost its vigor. Showbiz hasn't been able to renew himself since 1995, the production's dull, banal. To be a "Show & AG" album is mostly disappointing, 4/10.
