Pounds — Die Enormous

In small steps, the Rochester rapper Pounds continues to carve out his space in the new Empire State scene.

The MC maintains a lyricism regarding the street and thug-mafia themes, greeted by a competent and at times great jazzy boom bap production, provided by Johnny Dangerus, NorthLake, Reallyhiiim, LeGunk, Teyo, Grubby Pawz, and by Pounds himself. The guests are Flee Lord, Daniel Son, Johnny Dangerus and 448 Brad. The rapper provides bars with a rough and raw style, easily flowing through melodic beats, with great samples, good drums often downtempo, dark, gloomy, glossy and soulful vibes and a couple of haunting loops. Among the guests stand out Flee Lord and Daniel Son, who delivers aggressively in "Arrangements". Good tape of 9 pieces and 23 minutes, published the last day of the year, recommended for East Coast fans. 7/10.
