Kim "Babygirl" Kenner, Tanya "Jazzy" Kenner, and Dion "Diva" Devoux arrive «straight outta Compton» as Hoez With Attitudes, HWA: on their debut, aiming the whole album on their sexual qualities and immediately going to dissing the same NWA and Eazy-E, who later decides to sign them with his Ruthless.
Instead, this record is released by the independent Drive-By Records and the girls are Chicago-born, later relocated to Los Angeles. The music is created by Ronnie Vann, Dangerous "D", Ced "Casanova" Malone, Damon Thomas, Jason Hess and Nutra-Sweet. The production is pretty fresh, especially in the first part, with minimal and simple rhythms, often jazzy or funky, to support intuitive, tempting, obscene and vicious lyrics. The album also features sung hooks to enhance an excellent flowing and light-hearted hardcore delivery with soft dope voice that leads to a sort of fantastic soft-core vibes.
These girls are far ahead of their time, anticipating all the pseudo-thug pseudo pornocore girls who will arrive in the following years (Kim, I see you): if you loved Lil Kim and Foxy Brown in the golden days, if you don't get tired of expletives, senseless violence, free sex, extremely obscene bars spitting every two seconds straight in the face, this album will be an absolute classic for you, highly recommended.
Rating: 8/10.
