Album by Queens rapper Grafh, entirely produced by the late DJ Shay producer from Buffalo part of the Griselda family. The project boasts high-profile guests including Bun B, Styles P, Sheek Louch, Cyhi the Prynce, 3D Na'Tee, El Camino, Ransom, Heem, Rick Hyde and Benny the Butcher, who blesses the release through its Black Soprano Family Records, with which Grafh has just signed.
The music made by DJ Shay is gorgeous, dark and enveloping, made up of great accessible jazz loops, trap and downtempo drums and an often somber mood. Grafh fits well with these musical carpets, delivering with a slow, calm and regular style for most time, flanked by the other performers, with Benny the Butcher giving a raw jab to his piece, Bun B delivering an energetic verse in "From the Start", and "Valid", which boasts a bassline that gives a dark tone to the atmosphere, distant drum downtempo, inspired and energetic delivery of Sheek Louch and Ransom that takes the tune with a fresh, smoothness, dope flow.
Consisting of thirteen songs and three quarters of an hour of solid material, "Stop Calling Art Content" emerges as Grafh's best project. The production is dynamic, melodic and excellent, the cartoonish rhythm of "Bettini", the sick organ of "Crystals" and the splendid melodic final beat deserve a couple of plays, as well as the rest of the tape, making it one of the most interesting hip-hop records of the year. 7.5/10.
