First studio album for 11/5, San Francisco group formed by Dante "Taydatay" Casey, Jermaine "Maine-O" Phillips and Paris "Hennesy" Robinson. Production and mixing are entirely handled by TC, who also plays the keyboards along with Reggie Smith and The Enhancer, co-producers of the record. Mr. Laid produces a beat, Barry Smith plays the bass. Guests are Under da Influence, Cold World Hustlers, OG Kevi Kev.
After Herm's intro on dry drum downtempo and gentle strings, the album starts badly due to the worst production of the album, courtesy of Mr. Laid: south, dry and harsh drum + fast and annoying snare, in addition to weak screechy synths. Everything else sounds better, especially from "Straight Murderism" onwards, with its soft strings and another dry downtempo drum that better accommodate the gangsta bars squandered by the performers. None of these guys stick in the memory, do something to be one of the best on the scene or say something worth noting. Having said that, there's an interesting section at the core of the project, with three good tracks where melodic samples, hard, dry and meager midtempo drum machines intersect with a good velvety and tidy rap from the trio. Possibly, the piece with guests boasts the freshest beat, then the tape drops again, featuring harsh drums, funky tones, and an average delivery. Released by Oakland's label Dogday, the album entered the rap chart, but didn't launch the trio's career in the industry. 7/10.
