Hip-Hop Albums of the Year

Stunna 4 Vegas — Rich Youngin'

Khalick Antonio Caldwell, from Salisbury, North Carolina, makes his first solo album and as an introductory track he decides to put a song with DaBaby and Lil Baby together.

He will be copied by everyone throughout the year. It's the only revolutionary, and decent, thing of the tape, because the rest doesn't work. Twelve tracks, half an hour of listening, but it's a really difficult listening to deal with, due to a confusing and heavy production, annoyingly indecent trap rhythms, if all goes well just generic. The trapper, launched by DaBaby a few years ago, tackles violent and gangsta lyrics with aggressive delivery and boring flow. Hard to find anything to save in this never-inspired trap album with one of the worst hip-hop productions of the year, perhaps among the guests: Blac Youngsta doesn't stand out too much, DaBaby does his homework while Lil Baby offers probably the best verse of the album in a track that is supposed to be one of the two bangers, the other one is provided by Offset, and I still don't understand what he did actually.

Rating: 3/10.
