The game is tight. At the end of 2017, an emerging rapper came out with an EP that featuring Westside Gunn, Conway and Prodigy of Mobb Deep. Despite this, the effort has been completely ignored for years, incomprehensibly. It's an effort of a really high quality for a newcomer, even if it's the youngest to come out of Griselda Records.
Skit, then splendid sample female soulful looped in background, light and ethereal jazzy rhythm that's the background to the skit, where journalists tell of a shooting in Buffalo, New York; excellent intro. "Mizz" follows, a tense, dark, deep, simple jazzy rhythm, invented by Boodeini, simple hook, excellent delivery by Elcamino, Prodigy destroys the track. Boodeini achieves a good simple, jazzy, essential, rounded rhythm for "One-Way". The fourth song is short and the only one produced by Lucky Seven, which provides a simple, jazzy, round, essential, not-too-tight rhythm. The delivery by Elcamino is always punctual. Boodeini also produces "Blood, Sweat & Tearz" providing a simple and essential jazzy midtempo rhythm worthy of Daringer, Elcamino slows down its delivery and is smoothness in a style reminiscent of AZ and Raekwon, then enters Westside Gunn, smooth, calm, dope delivery + final skit. Conway also arrives, in the next one, on a good simple and essential jazzy rhythm by Rowland, with samples of trumphet looped in the background. Rowland also produces the following track, essential tight and midtempo jazzy beat, typical of Daringer (excellent work by Rowland, props to him), excellent delivery of Elcamino in a song that resonates Griselda everywhere. It closes "D Wade", the usual jazzy production of Boodeini, with sample male soulful looped tight in the background and solid delivery of Elcamino, then Conway rips the track.
Elcamino's only release together with Griselda Records (although later projects realized by him are credited as works for the label), this EP launches his artistic career.
Highlights: "Mizz", "Blood, Sweat & Tearz", "Left Em'".
