Kap & Kinetic 9 — 911

Whole production created by Kinetic from Steubenville, Ohio, rapping by Czech author KAP, emcee from Prague, Czech Republic. A rare international collaboration between Wu and Europe. RZA already tried it in 2003, selling his beats' scraps to half of Europe ("The World According to RZA"). Bohemian rapper Vladimir 518 and Mr. Sulo are the guests on the album, while Kinetic himself comes to help the main emcee on a couple of tracks in the second half of the album. KAP aka IronKap has already collaborated with Kinetic in 2010, in addition to having RZA, Redman, Buddha Monk of Brooklyn Zu and Rugged Monk of Black Knights as guests on his album "Nemesis",  whose cover is designed by the historic graphic artist of Chambermusik Sho Graphix, who if I'm not mistaken has Bohemian origins.

The first cut is one of the best of the effort: robust boom bap created by Kinetic, with dry drum, solid bass, great samples and violins in the background to support KAP's hardcore execution. The second choice presents a minimal rhythmic solution, lean dry drum, calm rap by the author. A track with a discrete and forgettable rhythm follows at the expense of a good rap by KAP. "Gotham" presents the first guest of the album, Vladimir 518: pleasant dark boom bap created by Beretta 9, with dark pressing piano, midtempo dry drum, good bass and horn sample in the background, energetic flowing delivery of the interpreters who bring home one of the many highlights of the edition.

The next two tracks are discrete, Kinetic still does well behind the keyboards with light liquid solutions, while KAP sounds inspired with his fluid style. "Psycho" is another highlight of the effort: dope dark piano sample, dry and hard drum, soft bass, a dark boom bap rhythm is born on which KAP's dark rapping sounds ideal. For some reason, the boys also attempt a club track with the next choice, rendered in English "Wolves": A slightly more mainstream rhythm created by the Killarmy member who places a dance beat intended for the club that KAP tackles with an energetic rap, negligible pop rap cut.

The producer offers a bouncy boom bap on the following track, also placing KAP at the mic for the first time on the tape: while the Bohemian rapper plays well, the MC from Steubenville enters blandly with a questionable execution and continues with a shaky style, creating an unmemorable piece. Choice number ten doesn't sound any better because of a soft boom bap beat topped with a pop hook sung by Mr. Sulo and a soft execution also by the main rapper. This track would also be the conclusion of the album if it weren't for the bonus track "Problems", the last track where Kinetic returns to rapping: boom bap with extravagant sounds in the background, good drum, solid bass, piano in the background, regular rap this time good offered by the rapper from Killarmy, second verse to KAP that completes the album with a more energetic style.

For a collaboration between a forgotten Wu member and a rapper from Central Europe, the album has its moments, several good ones, credit to both. I guess the mainstream track has to be tried in any case and doesn't affect the holding of the tape, which remains solid. Among the best albums made by Kinetic, by the way. 6.5/10.
