MC Trouble — Gotta Get a Grip

LaTasha Rogers leaves the world at 20 years old due to an epileptic seizure brought on from complications from a brain tumor, which resulted in heart failure. Rogers, aka MC Trouble, wasn't your generic rapper or a random artist: first female rapper to sign with Motown, means that her career was addressed well and had a single in the charts.

In addition to an entire album already made. It's an honest record, it cannot compete with the best of the game, but it's well made and has no weak points, it plays on simple and minimal rhythms and on the regular delivery of the girl. There are several musical variations that don't bore you: disco-dance bridges, R&B hooks, more aggressive and flowing deliveries, sung hooks, drum machines set to work in the first line to create harsher rhythms, ballad, disco-dance beats, and samples funky guessed that make this album fully accessible, livable, and worthy of listening.

Rating: 6/10.
