Entirely instrumental album made by Brooklyn producer Denny LaFlare, who in the past collaborated with Westside Gunn: "Lunchin" and "Birkin" are beats taken from "Flygod Is an Awesome God", while "One More Hit" is taken from the instrumental of the freestyle realized by the same artist.
"Number 7 Intro" is the first joint, a splendid tense, dark and mafioso jazzy boom bap, a LaFlare masterpiece production, followed by another excellent instrumental, "Gold Diamonds", a modern jazzy boom bap, glossy and cheerful, amazing work by the producer who proves to be able to create rhythms that would be perfect for the Griselda boys. "GTM" is one of the rare weak points of the album, there are very few of them: funky boom bap with jazzy elements, bouncy and simple, short, but which doesn't offer the same emotions as the previous ones.
The fourth song is slightly better, it maintains the same characteristics of the first two beats, with a heavier and more skeletal drum, drumming and simple rhythm with samples by Lil Jon. "Free Max B" sees the underground legend complaining in the background over a good boom bap jazzy, before "No Cap": here, we return to the initial levels, with a splendid tense, gloomy, essential and dirty jazzy rhythm, purely underground, from to appreciate. "Lunchin", this tune is among the best of this LaFlare project, splendid track, boom bap jazzy with soulful vibes, deep and tearful, excellent instrumental piece.
"Side B Intro" has a nice jazzy beat with opera singer samples, tight in the background. "Birkin" is the ninth choice in this tape, a great choice: subdued and somber jazzy boom bap, tense and minimal, essential, amazing. Another nice jazzy production follows, tense with a vicious sample looped in the background, perhaps not as good as the previous ones, but when you think LaFlare can no longer make mistakes, "Gun Man" arrives, discreet, simple, and skeletal, qualitatively it doesn't stand comparison with the other soundscapes, this is the other weak point. Fortunately, also the last one, since the beatmaker places "One More Hit" as the last song, a splendid jazzy rhythm with tight looped soul samples.
Twenty minutes, almost twenty-one. They pass quickly though, the boy did a good job. Recommended for Griselda fans.
Highlights: "Number 7 Intro", "Gold Diamonds", "No Cap", "Lunchin", "Birkin", "One More Hit".
Rating: 7/10.
