Statik Selektah — The Lost and Damned EP

It's not the most inspired work by the producer from Lawrence, Massachusetts. Statik Selektah executes six productions that are a compliment to call average, and places several East Coast rappers there: Termanology, Freeway, Saigon, Consequence, Skyzoo, Talib Kweli and Reks

"Here in LIberty City" is supposed to be a hymn to Liberty City, but Termanology is doing something else here. The others more or less disappoint everyone, Freeway should rip "Car Jack" and its generic rhythm, instead he spits in a contained way. Spotify presents two bonuses, "Rollin' Down the Freeway" with Kali, Glasses Malone and Termanology, and "Destined to Shine (Obama Remix)", remix of a song released a few months earlier in the second Statik LP in which Torae, Jon Hope and Sha Stimuli somehow report the best song of this short EP. The material is little, 18 minutes divided into 6 tracks that become 26 minutes with the bonuses, however, the EP shows neither Statik skill behind the keyboards nor the talent of these interpreters on the mic. It's quite curious because, except the beatmaker's protégés and Consequence, they all have at least one remarkable album in their discography. Not recommended, 5/10.
