Six years after the last chapter, Curren$y and Ski Beatz release the fourth part of Pilot Talk.
This is also the last tape of one of the most prolific seasons for the rapper, where nevertheless his efforts have received a generally lukewarm reception in most cases. Even "Regatta", an EP that came from a splendid race performed alongside producer Harry Fraud, was received with a bad mood. In the fourth episode of Pilot Talk, Curren$y significantly shortens the amount of music and makes the project more rounded and compact, in order to reduce the risk of mistakes.
Coming back from a 2020 that brought him back into vogue among the freshest emcees on the circuit, he hasn't shone over the course of 2021, and his performance here sounds better than his other records of the same year, calm, relaxed, fluid. The production of Ski remains lush, jazzy, serene, without being able to stand up to the comparison with the previous chapters of the series. The project retains several great moments and stands out as one the best efforts of the year for Curren$y, even though it's at the same time the weakest Pilot Talk released so far. "So Easy" boasts the finest beat and is the top song. 7/10.
