P. Diddy & The Bad Boy Family — The Saga Continues...

Third studio album by Sean Combs, the one and only released under the new moniker P. Diddy (and the Family). The production is credited to The Hitmen, Megahertz, The Neptunes, Bink and Buckwild. The performers are Faith Evans, G.Dep, Black Rob, Loon, Mark Curry, Three The..., The Neptunes, 8Ball, MJG, Marsha, Big Azz Ko, Kain, Bristal, Chari Dennis, Kokane, Lo & Jack, The Hoodfellaz and Carl Thomas.

I don't know what P. Diddy's intent was for this effort. It looks like a compilation made up of an impossible to receive minimal production with a lackluster rap performed by all these amateurs. The rhythms subside and calm down for the rnb songs, which are melodic and are the only accessible ones of the whole record: Faith Evans stands high above all others bringing three of the four best songs in these 78 minutes, the other one is done by Cheri Dennis, and it's another rnb piece. Together with P. Diddy, Black Rob (7) and G.Dep (6) are the major performers of the album and they're both very bad. For one of Combs' latest projects with the Arista, BMG takes the field directly to distribute the album, which flies to second place on the BIllboard 200, first in the rnb chart. Not recommended. 2/10.
