Conway — Everybody Is F.O.O.D. 2: Eat What U Kill [mixtape]

This is the second chapter of Conway the Machine serie "Everybody Is Food". The production is provided by DJ Shay, The Alchemist, Graymatter, Ral Duke, Mephux, Khrysis and DJ Skizz. Benny the Butcher, Flee Lord and Amber Simone are the guest of the project.

Tight and rough concept album, fantastic product by Conway, lyrically raw, musically dark, with stylistic variations that raise the quality level. The rhythms are the classic jazzy Griselda beats, alienating ("Fentanyl"), tight, sad ("Painkillers"), disturbing ("Hide the Body"), dirty underground ("Corners"), trap ("Cocaine Paid"), tense, gloomy ("G Money on the Roof"), minimal ("Proud of Me") and positive ("Overdose"), the Buffalo rapper is raw but raises his writing level and varies his flow, making this tape intriguing and giving it a remarkable replay value.

Highlights: "May Block". Great boom bap jazzy dark realized by Alchemist, delivery by Con, can't be wrong on this perfect carpet. "Hide the Body". Boom bap jazzy, essential, disturbing, well stocked, Benny kills the cut, well Conway. "Piece of My Heart". Beautiful minimal jazzy rhythm made by DJ Shay with a deep and essential tone, tight and underground production, perfect, with excellent soulful sample looped in the background, Conway lets the rhythm breathe, then delivers the tribute track to Benny's brother, Machine Gun Black; the beat goes by itself towards the classic status.

Rating: 8/10.
