Debut album by Joseph "JoJo Pellegrino" Edwards, Italian-American rapper from Staten Island affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. The second installment of his "Hitman for Hire" series is his first LP in the course of a career spanning over twenty years in the game. Guests are Ghostface Killah and Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan, Wu-affiliates Carlton Fisk and Shyheim, as well as RJ Payne, Dave Goode, Fryday Knyte, Conway the Machine, Dainja Mental, OT the Real, Mowe and Gorilla Nems.
JoJo Pellegrino, known mainly as freestyle rapper, for some killer spots scattered over the years, and for his presence in the restricted circle of the "GTA III" Game FM radio station, delivers hardcore for over forty minutes and fourteen tracks, on a varied and simple production. Some of the best tracks are "Threat", with RJ Payne, the homage to Don Cartagena's hit "Flow Joe", in an interesting contrast between the original lush jazz beat and the rapper's raw flow, "3 Kings", made together with the Wu-Tang icons, "Bada Fu$King Bing" performed with Nems with Pellegrino tearing the cut, and "Shootaz", a lush rhythm with fresh and lively drum, and light, melodic jazz samples accompanying the energetic delivery of Staten's MC and the velvety, crisp and clean style of Conway the Machine.
Good album, with solid production and hardcore rap, one of the strongest project realized by a Wu-affiliated in the last years, recommended for Killa Beez and East Coast fans. 7/10.
