Fourth album in three years for Al Kapone, Alkatraz Productions handles the beats, mixing is handled by Brian Smith, Jason Latshaw and Neal Jones, and there are several live instrumentalists, such as Brian Smith on bass, Bobby "G", J- Dogge, E-Rokk and Dr. Jay on keyboards, Diz, Lil Pat, E-Rokk and Dr. Jay on drums.
The MC holds three solo joints, including the opening title track, and two-thirds of the album are performed by guests mainly from the Alkatraz Syndicate: Taylor Boy, K.O. Cane Wayne, 1st Degree, C-9, K-9, Young Lo, plus Gangsta Pat. Background vocals are provided by Carolyn Powell, Deon, Fireball, Michael Street, Robyn Dorsey and Tracy Woods.
The album is good, solid, cohesive with its ten long cuts and about forty minutes of listening. Nonetheless, it looks quite similar to the previous ones and isn't an immediate classic: the production is good, there are several midtempo and downtempo drums, dark samples, g-funk infections with almost random synths and a competent and regular delivery from the performers. Curiously, one of the best rhythms ends up being instrumental to the outro. Released by Brutal Records and distributed by Priority, it's his only record with a mainstream label before returning to release material on the underground circuit.
Rating: 7/10.
