Two years after their debut "Authentik", the group Suprême NTM released their second studio album. Recorded between April 1992 and February 1993, the album saw the entrance into rap by Yazid, until then a dancer of the group, while the presence of JoeyStarr was limited to seven tracks out of seventeen. The music was curated by DJ S, Tahar, with a beat by the Beatnuts and two rhythms created by The LG Experience, the younger brother of Easy Mo Bee. Big Red and AL.X were the guests of the project.
Compared to their debut a few years earlier, the boys improved their rapping style and their writing, writing committed, sharp, socio-conscious, political, denouncing lyrics against the state and the media and reciting them with some of their best flows and a hard, powerful, hardcore rap. The production was more detailed than in the past, heavier in the wake of the American style, putting the boom bap aside a bit. The strong and denunciatory songs are alternated with lighter and more relaxed tracks such as "Pour un nouveau massacre", "De best" and "Just pour le fun", together with the freestyles "Le révolution du son" and "Dans le vent", as well as a remix ("Sur 24 pistes") and the sequel to "C'est clair" from the debut album.
The album was released in 1993 with Epic distributed by Sony. Its release was followed by an advertising campaign in the capital that warned that the album would never be played on the radio, in fact it obtained very limited airplay on both radio and television channels, where the music video for the title track could only be broadcast after midnight. The denunciatory song "Police", in which the boys accuse the police of abuse of power, gave rise to a wave of controversy that led to an investigation against the group that was closed without taking action. The title track instead costs the group a two-month prison sentence (three years after its release), a fine of 50,000 francs for contempt of the police and the boys' ban from the radio due to the taboo topic of suicide.
Coherent, raw, heavy, lucid, the album sells less well than the previous one and exceeds 50,000 copies in just under three months from its release, also undermined by the failure to obtain a major production, also because the boys are unable to organize an appropriate tour due to the bad reputation of the group. The album is certified gold in July 1997 with over 100,000 copies sold. Recommended to fans. 7.5/10.
